About Jelleestone
Jelleestone broke big time in 2001 signing a joint venture deal between Warner Brothers Records and his own imprint Rex Entertainment Inc.
His first release, "MONEY PART 1" ("Money can't buy you happiness"), co-produced by Jon "Rabbi" Levine of The Philosopher Kings, was second most added song at radio in the U.S. and climbed the Billboard Hot 100 charts internationally. He went on to release the Rex Entertainment/Warner Brother Records debut entitled "JELLEESTONE THIRTEEN" later that year.
After touring, and writing with some Canada’s top pop, rock and soul artists. Jelleestone decided to switch labels and executive produce his second studio album himself. He began working with talented, yet unknown sound engineer/producer Noah "40" Shebib. This resulted in the Rex Entertainment/BlackSmith/Universal release titled "THE HOOD IS HERE".
The sophomore project featured Canada's pop princess Nelly Furtado on the Daft Punk inspired, and "Best Rap Video" nominated, single "Friendamine" remix.
Jelleestone has been nominated for song writers and radio awards as well as being "Best New Solo Artist" and "Best Rap Recording" nominee at Canada’s prestigious Juno Awards. The sophomore album also earned him the coveted MMVA "Best Rap Video" trophy for "Who Dat", a collaboration with dancehall sensation ElephantMan.
With a documentary and a new album in the works, Jelleestone aka Young Poet is poised to once again show why he is so beloved and respected by his supporters, and revered by his peers!
